The Hāpai Kaumātua Grant is here to uplift and support our kaumātua during this time of rising living costs. Grounded in manaakitanga,
it provides practical assistance with care and respect, helping to uphold your mana and support your wellbeing. It is about
whakamana – enabling you to continue living well, staying connected with your whānau, feeling supported, and maintaining your
dignity and independence.

The Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board is providing a one-off $100 payment to registered members aged 60 years and over.

Available: 1 July 2026 – 30 June 2027.

Limit: One grant per applicant.

To be eligible to apply, you must:

  • Reside in New Zealand
  • Be a registered member of the Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board
  • Be aged 60 years and over
  • Provide verified bank account details
  • The hardship grant will only be paid into the applicant’s verified bank account. Payment will not be made to bank accounts held solely by another person
  • Complete and submit this form

Applications are processed monthly. Applications must be received by the 10th of each month for payment on the 20th of that month.
