Grant Application

TRADE TRAINING GRANT APPLICATION

Please Note: You must be registered with either Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board or Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust to apply for this grant. Please contact the office on +64 7 386 8832 for further details.

PLEASE READ
  1. The Trade Training grant recognises the academic excellence of second year and higher apprentices and trade training students working and studying in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
  2. There are 20 grants available valued at $1,000 each.
  3. The grant is available to registered members who are studying an NZQA approved course at the following training providers:
    • University or Whare Wānanga
    • Polytechnic or Technical Institute
    • Industry Training Organisation
    • Private Training Establishment
  4. The grant is available for full-time students and apprentices in employment.
  5. Applicants must provide:
    1. a recommendation letter from their employer and/or training provider;
    2. confirmation of their enrolment, fees and course information; and
    3. a copy of their previous year's academic results.
  6. If your training provider does not award grade passes, you must provide some equivalent evidence of academic excellence.
  7. Successful recipients will be selected based on academic and industry performance.
  8. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
  9. If an applicant withdraws from their study prior to or after receiving the grant, they must notify the Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board. If this does not occur, an applicant may not be eligible for further grants.
  10. Upon graduation or completion of the apprenticeship, all recipients must provide the Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board and Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust with a copy of their qualification.
  11. Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board and Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust have the sole discretion to accept or decline any application.
  12. Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board and Tūwharetoa Settlement Trust reserve the right to use a successful applicant's name and other details for publicity and promotion purposes.
  13. Applications will be processed from February to March.
  14. Successful Recipients will be selected and approved by management in May.
  15. Payments will be made in May.

IF APPROVED: You will be notified in writing or by email. Monies will be paid into the nominated bank account by direct credit.
IF DECLINED: You will be notified in writing or by email.
